Somehow I’ve made it to the third trimester of this pregnancy and my body is finding all the ways to finally remind me that I am actually pregnant. I know I’m not alone when I say that pregnancy FLIES by when you have children to look after. But at 31 weeks I’m definitely feeling like my daily routine is kicking my butt! In the mornings when I usually try to get things done quickly to get us out the door, I get my daily dose of Braxton Hicks contractions which usually send me straight to a chair. I’ve had them on and off since early in pregnancy and now I just expect them- thinking they’re preparing me for the real deal. Yea right! NOTHING can prepare you for labour contractions in my books. Other than that I’m lucky that I don’t suffer from any back related pain, despite my two professional clingers who still love to be carried. Heartburn is another symptom I get almost everyday. Usually in my sleep or right when I’m about to fall asleep. Its just my body’s way of reminding me about all my Netflix snacks which I probably shouldn’t have. And last but not least I’m also finding it hard to sleep at night. The slightest noise will wake me up and I’ll be spending the rest of the night trying to fall back asleep. Its crazy.
That’s a pretty broad update but I think if I had more time to reflect on my growing pains I would find a lot more discomfort. For now I’m just trying to get through the day with enough energy to successfully remove my makeup at the end of the night. Its not rare for my husband to come home and find me passed out on my daughter’s bed with a book on my face. Despite all the challenges, the Universe reminds me at every turn that this is what I have been called to do. Being a mom, growing my tribe. It’s what I’m good at and love to do. Every now and then, finding gaps in the day to have a coffee with my husband or planning a spontaneous photoshoot/ hike are definitely moments I cherish. Here we had about two hours to kill and decided to check out the Fall foliage at Evergreen Brick Works. We were cracking up because as soon as we got there the entire place was a scene out of a scary movie. All we could see were twigs and branches. All the leaves had fallen already and it was a true foliage fail lol. Then from the distance we spotted a tree with golden yellow leafs- just the most beautiful thing! Don’t think I’ve ever been this excited for a single tree in my life haha. It was hilarious.
