Family Time with Vitamix
Part of what makes Christmas so special is the magic of the days leading up to it. For us, that magic is simply spending time with family and of course doing festive stuff like gift shopping, baking, eating to our heart’s content and snuggling in our Pj’s pretty much all the way up to the New Year. The past couple of weeks have been all about spending quality time with our girls. With Zaphora being off from school we’re rushing less and extending that breakfast conversation, reading that extra book and just being more present in general. And what could be better than slow cozy days connecting with loved ones? Slow cozy days with a smoothie in hand. ;)
Somewhere in my to-do list, dinner should be served with a side of veggies to counter all the cookies and treats we’ve been eating over the last couple of days. But in true Holiday mode, we give priority to all the fun stuff like enjoying family, chatting/ lounging and yup.. ordering takeout instead of cooking our usual dinner at home. Thanks to our new Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series blender, giving my family a healthy boost of nutrients while enjoying the Holidays has been a breeze.
Our favorite time to make smoothies is first thing in the morning. I’m currently loving the Hint of Mint Smoothie from the Vitamix Simply Blending cookbook. It’s an instant energy booster and so so good! I’ve copied the recipe below if you fancy a delicious green smoothie to get your mornings going. For the girls, I make something a little sweeter but still manage to sneak in the greens! Our movie marathons over the Holidays were fueled by smoothies in one hand and popcorn in the other. Definitely a new tradition we’ll keep going for the years to come.
